The Kindling : 23 January 2027

A Candlelit Evening of Hope, Vision & the Returning Light

There is a moment, in the deepest part of winter, when you notice the light has begun to return.

Not dramatically. Not all at once.
Just a little more of it each evening, held a few minutes longer.

A hope you stopped tending, and can feel stirring again.
A dream you kept safe underground all winter, waiting for the right moment to rise.
A quiet, stubborn belief that things can be better than they are.

Imbolc, the ancient festival of the returning light, marks the first stirring of spring beneath frozen ground. Long associated with Brigid, goddess of the hearth flame, it is not a celebration of what has bloomed, but of what is about to.

Because hope is not naive. Hope is a practice. A flame we choose to tend, especially on the long nights.

This gathering is an invitation to pause at that threshold and ask:

What do I want my life to look like in the light?
What kind of future do we want to help build, together?

This evening, we are doing things a little differently.

Rather than gathering around a single table, the night will unfold as a strolling dinner: small plates, flowing wine, and unhurried conversation moving gently through the space. Room to breathe. Room to imagine. Room to create.

Because at the heart of this night is something we have never offered before.

Artist Miranda Wildman will lead every guest through the creation of her very own Kindling token, a deeply personal, handmade keepsake that holds the hope she is ready to tend and the future she wants to help bring into being. Each piece entirely unique. Each one made by her own hands, in community, guided every step of the way. All materials included.

A simple shared ritual at the heart of the evening honors the flame. We gather not to perform optimism or manufacture certainty, but to hold space for one another. To say: what has survived the dark deserves to be tended. And: what is trying to begin deserves to be welcomed.

Your evening includes:

  • A strolling candlelit dinner

  • Curated wine pairings

  • Guided facilitation through themes of hope, vision & what comes next

  • A shared ritual of the flame, for our own futures and the one we share

  • Art facilitation by Miranda Wildman

  • All materials for your personal Kindling token
