Living Cicada Ring

$145.00

The ancient Egyptians sometimes wore live insects as jewelry. Wearing live insects was considered to give ultimate supernatural powers and protection.

An example of living jewelry in modern times is the “Roach Brooch” of 2006. It became a popular piece featuring a hissing cockroach bejeweled with Swarovski crystals.

Somewhere in between the “Roach Brooch” and an ancient Egyptian design is this bronze cicada ring which emulates a living insect, realistic in size and detail. (But not alive! )

This ring is surprisingly comfortable for the enormous size. It’s nearly 2” long by 1” wide.

  • Antique gold overlay

  • Swarovski rhinestones

  • Genuine Opal center cabochon

Please note: this ring is NOT symmetrical and thus more realistic.
